I think I generated 7-8 worlds before I found one that I liked that matched the existing 'canon' parts of the world, then took the exported map file into photoshop to draw some very rough political borders. I was maybe an hour into it with very little progress when I realized a greater mind than I had already simulated all of this far better than I could. I only really had a few cities loosely mapped out, as it's largely been urban/subterranean adventures so far, with very little outside exploration on the players' part.ĭecided that the world needed some more geopolitical context for some of the hooks and adventures I'm planning (to try and get them the hell out of the city they've holed up in) and sat down to try and brainstorm the landmasses, visualize tectonics and where mountains would arise, what the biomes would be like, etc. Not quite what you're looking for, but since it relates to using DF as a resource for RPGs, I figured I'd share: I've just recently used DF to generate a overworld map for my 2e AD&D campaign world.
